Becoming a Board Leader

Not all nonprofits have paid staff, but all nonprofit organizations rely on passionate, dedicated board members to carry out their missions. In addition to the basic fiduciary duties of board service, we’ll provide some examples of how board members can make a greater impact. Key ideas include developing a strong working relationship between the Executive Director and board members, asking questions and engaging in meetings, and serving as a proactive ambassador outside of the boardroom. The goal of this workshop is to help board members become leaders and advocates for their organizations, regardless of whether or not they serve on an executive committee. This workshop will be led by SCCF board member and local pastor, Craig Burkholder.

Current and potential board members who are interested in taking their board commitment to the next level are invited to attend. We also encourage nonprofit executive directors to attend.
