Nonprofit Capacity-Building Check-In Event: Health Organizations Cohort
SCCF is hosting a Nonprofit Capacity-Building Check-In event. SCCF’s goal for this focus group discussion is to hear directly from Steuben County nonprofits. We want to learn about your current capacity-building needs and gather feedback about ways SCCF can help address them. This is also an opportunity to gather in person for collaboration and relationship building with nonprofit leaders who share common goals.
This year, SCCF will host a series of small focus group meetings at Club Z in Trine University’s MTI Center on October 7. These meetings will have 10-15 nonprofit leaders who work in similar areas and will last 1 hour. Light refreshments will be provided.
The discussions about your capacity-building needs will be led by Dr. Kelly Trusty. She will ask questions and share a summary with SCCF’s board to review. In order to encourage transparency and honesty, SCCF staff will not be in the room for these conversations. We want your candid feedback! This information helps us develop nonprofit trainings, informs grantmaking, and allows us to hear about the needs that matter to Steuben County firsthand.
P.S. We define capacity-building as improvements that make a nonprofit better equipped to meet its mission. This includes strengthening and learning new skills among staff members, improvements to a facility or infrastructure, developing strong leadership and organization governance, or establishing relationships and community connections.
