Meet the team

“I first became aware of the SCCF when friends and I decided to start a breast cancer awareness organization in 1999, Let’s Swing for Breast Cancer.  Sharon Stroh helped us start an endowment fund with part of the proceeds from our golf outing.  That fund has since been added to the Steuben County Cancer Association fund. However, my interest in not for profit giving goes back to my family who was active in many organizations in Fort Wayne.  My experience with the investment committee for the Anthony Wayne Boy Scouts led to my appointment to the finance and investment committee for SCCF several years ago. 

My history in Steuben County goes back to my grandparents’ home on Lake Gage where I spent my first several summers.  Like a bad penny, I kept coming back to Steuben County and finally moved here permanently in 1998.  Along the way, I took a non-traditional approach to becoming a CPA and CFP in the 1980’s and a career in individual tax preparation and financial planning working in Fort Wayne and Angola.  Although, I finally retired the official licenses, I continue to do some tax work locally.

My belief in the work of the community foundation remains strong and I am excited to be joining the board at this time of growth with new opportunities and challenges.”
